Santa`s hideaway
There`s a story abound, that in the small northern village of
Vuostimo, Santa and Mrs Santa have a hide where to
withdraw during the busy Christmas season. It`s said that
Santa and the elves usually sleep during the day but when
the sun begins to settle the elves start doing their daily
chores running around the yard with lanterns in hand.
Usually their tasks get mixed up with races and games of
their doing, since it`s a known fact that elves are playful
and energetic by nature. Sometimes even their chores
get forgotten, which are plowing the snow of the yard,
feeding the reindeers and lighting the lanterns etc. Nicest
thing to do after all is to play with the children who are
visiting the yard.
Santa and Mrs. Santa are more comfortable indoors. Mrs
Santa in a baking cakes and gingerbread and Santa Claus
in his own chair looking at his big book, remembering the
past Christmas and planning for the coming Christmas.
Searching for Santa
The search for the Santa`s hide begins behind a small
forested area where the elves are playing around with
lanterns. The elves will then receive the guests and lead
them through a lit path to a hut where the guests will be
offered christmaspastrys and hot juice. Theelves are
known to be kind and hospitable towards others. The hut is
a good place towarm up if the air is cold. Next to the hut
theres a pen for Santas main reindeer, guests can even
feed it. The main yard area is lit with fires and has snow
carved statues that the kidscan use for playing, climbing
and sliding down from. The elves will be playing with the
children outside. The guide elf will fetch the families inside
one by one to meet Santa Claus. Inside, Santa will have a
chat with the families and the kids will receive a small gift
as a souvenir from their visit. Guide elf can take pictures of
the meeting inside if the family wishes so. Once everyone
have visited inside Santa will come out with Mrs Santa and
the elves to bid their farewells to the visitors.
